Edel Browne

Edel Browne is a 2018 graduate of Presentation College Athenry, County Galway with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. She was recently included in Forbes 30 under 30 list. She has an outstanding record in science and technology competitions such as winning the Best Individual Award (2nd place overall) at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in January 2013. Her project, "Free Feet," is a device that reduces the freezing of gait in Parkinson's disease. Edel was also the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Galway Science and Technology Exhibition 2013. Edel is now the Co-Founder and CEO of Free Feet Medical and partners with the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland. She has presented her business plan for her company at Cambridge University and Imperial College London. She is also working with STEMettes, the largest Social Enterprise organization for the promotion of Women in STEM in the UK and Ireland, and has spoken on gender diversity and equality within the STEM Sector on behalf of the organization. Edel was also selected for the Top 30 under 30 Ones to Watch list in 2016 by three different publications.
